7 Must Have Skills Of Leadership - Mastery Of These Skills Guarantee Your Success As A Leader
Every one of us is born with skills of leadership. But few of us extract these skills and become leaders or creators or entrepreneurs. Why few people make use of this innate quality yet everyone posses these inborn characters?
If you closely observe great leaders you can easily identify these skills from within you. Anyone who assimilates these qualities and employ them in their life, they can fulfill their cherished dreams without any doubt. Here are the 7 skills of leader.
1) They destroy old and out dated house.
When we are born, our mind is fresh. We have no memories, no experiences and no opinions. As we grow everyone who comes to our life, including our parents, teachers, religious priests and many others, puts their stuff in to our mind. We form ideas opinions, perceptions and behave like puppets.
Our behavior is replaying these experiences and we rarely question these beliefs. These beliefs form the basis of our attitude and thus we assume incompetent mode and feel worthless. Unless these learned beliefs are altered or demolished, leadership development is not attainable. How can you build a dream house without demolishing old structure? Altering the old beliefs is the first leadership skill.
2) They touch their hearts and smell their feelings and ignite their passions.
Captain of ship depends on mariner compass to lead the path. Which is the compass on which we can depend upon to define our destiny? What is the purpose of our life and why are we born? Finding answers to these questions are second important skill of leadership.
Our feelings tell us which work gives us more pleasure and which work gives us misery. For me development agriculturist gives immense happiness because I am from agrarian back ground. Everyone will have a unique passion. Identification your passion is crucial for preparation of road map, which is third skill of leadership.
3) They prepare their road map.
Once they felt they can do and identified their passion it is time for preparation of road map. They design blue print and draw out plan of action. Without deciding where to go can we start our journey? It is just like that only.
4) They put together all the pieces of jig saw puzzle.
Fourth skill of leadership is first stage of actual play, because all the three skills analyzed so far are conceptual in nature. Fourth skill is team building. Leader identifies right people for right job and put together the teams.
5) They build good relationships.
Core value of leadership is relationship building and all other activities are means to achieve this core value. Leader therefore gives highest priority for this.
6) They enjoy each stroke of the game without too concerned about the end result.
Enjoyable play is possible only when victory is not too important. If the victory is important the way you play the game becomes unimportant, then there is no play. Enjoy the journey don't postpone it till reaching the goal. If you enjoy each stroke of the game, then winning the game is automatic.
Unhappiness and stress are results of faulty thinking of not living in present. Either are we guilty of past or worry about future. Just do your work as per the plan and be happy for that as you are creating your future.
7) They are ageless students and learn ceaselessly.
Last skill of leadership is continuous learning .They listens to everybody and see greatness in others. Without their following they can't be a leaders. Once they stop learning they can't be leaders.
